FRANCIS DHOMONT : SOUS LE REGARD D'UN SOLEIL NOIR
Original French press on INA-GRM - 197?

One of the best releases in this great series by the Institut National de l'Audiovisuel/Groupe de Recherches Musicales (INA-GRM), directed by Francois Bayle. Fantastic electroacoustic music, titled "Sous le regard d'un soleil noir", comes in the typical gatefold cover of 'serie gramme', including a booklet full of infos & photos and an insert with label info. Highly recommended for all fans of Pierre Henry, Bernard Parmegiani or Jacques Lejeuene! Some more infos from discogs:
"Francis Dhomont (Paris, France, 1926) studied under Ginette Waldmeier, Charles Koechlin and Nadia Boulanger. In the late 40’s, in Paris (France), he intuitively discovered with magnetic wire what Schaeffer would later call “musique concrète” and consequently conducted solitary experiments with the musical possibilities of sound recording. Later, leaving behind instrumental writing, he dedicated himself exclusively to electroacoustic composition. An ardent proponent of acousmatics, his work (since 1963) is comprised exclusively of works for tape bearing witness to his continued interest in morphological interplay and ambiguities between sound and the images it may create. Since 1978, he has divided his time between France and Québec, where he has taught at the Université de Montréal from 1980 to 1996. He is an Associate Composer of the Canadian Music Centre (CMC, 1989) and a Founding Member (1986) and Honorary Member (1989) of the Canadian Electroacoustic Community (CEC)."

EX = Excellent (only very slight wear and paper scuffs, vinyl still glossy with very rare noise)
VG++ = Near Excellent (light surface noise and wear but fairly minor, vinyl still plays nicely)
VG+ = Very Very Good (Evident groove wear or minor scuff marks, surface noise noticeable but does not really affect the playing)
VG = Very Good (Wear and scuffs are more evident and many surface noises are noticeable)
VG- = Good to Very Good (heavy groove wear or scuffing, plays noisily)
