FOREVER AMBER - THE LOVE CYCLE - FOLK / PSYCH GEM - NEW LP
Tracklist
A unique UK psych pop album stuffed to the gills with mini song nuggets which are rawly recorded but never distractingly so (the recording quality actually enhances some of this stuff). Starts out a bit shaky but we reach the 5th song or so, it seems to find its groove and reveals 2 minute gem after 2 minute gem. There are flashes of feedback-laced acid guitar on tracks like "The Dreamer Flies Back", "Better Things Are Bound To Come" and "On Top of My Own Special Mountain" but more common are endearingly cheap sounding keyboard-led tracks like "All The Colours of My Book" and "Misunderstood". Really cool stuff- it's a real shame the band didn't get to make a better produced second album, at the very least.
