CONDITION / ADDITIONAL INFO
SLEEVE. G. FRONT. Small split (c.5mm) resulting in an area of laminate/colour loss, bottom right. Corner creasing top left and right (heavier on the left though the laminate remains intact). Soft ring wear at top. Spine intact and fully readable with just one tiny, tiny split between the 1 and 2 of the catalogue number. ). Dings to opening side but no colour loss involved and most are only particularly noticeable when moved around in light. REVERSE. Proverbially slightly grubby (as indeed befits a 45 year old, clearly much loved, psych album!) but generally 'whiter' than it appears in the above scan due to lighting conditions. Light ring wear. The only crease that carries through from the front appears top right though it's much softer than it's mirror image on the other side. Couple of figures in red biro towards top left and the name 'Marr' appears in black biro beneath the 'Saga' logo bottom left. Series of dings to opening edge though they're fewer and softer in nature than on the front. Otherwise all seams intact with no tears or major damage.
RECORD. G. Clearly an album that, as fully befits the genre, has accompanied many a party / session over the last (almost) half a century. Lots of hairlines and surface marks (largely non-feelable) on both sides. Having said that though it's a pretty clean record and you can still see your reflection in it. There's spindle marks a-go-go too but absolutely no loss of colour or fraying around the centre hole. The name 'Marr' appears again in black biro on side one's label (top left) but as the label itself is matt black it's barely noticeable. Audibly speaking there's plenty of 'eggs frying' type background crackle throughout (heaviest on each side's opening track) but your ears soon become atuned to it and at no point does it threaten to completely 'drown-out' any track. There's a few points with louder clicks and pops but, again, at no point are there any sticks or jumps. It still tracks perfectly throughout from start to finish. I know because I've just listened to the whole album from beginning to end. Overall then this would be perfect if you own the 2000 reissue and just want to be able to say you've got the original too or it's a handy collection-filler until a better (and no doubt infinitely pricier) copy comes along.
