Schon das Line-Up bestehend aus LG Petrov am Gesang (Entombed A.D. / ex-Nihilist), den Gitarristen Victor Brandt (Entombed A.D.) und Fredrik Folkare (Unleashed), Basser A. Impaler (Necrophobic) und Matte Modin (Raised Fist, ex-Dark Funeral) dürfte sämtliche Fans schwedischen Todesbleis aufhorchen lassen. FIRESPAWN frönen allerdings nicht dem typisch rotzigen Stockholm-Sound, sondern liefern einen düsteren, technisch versierten und brutalen Mix aus US-Göttern wie früheren Morbid Angel, Monstrosity und der dunklen Erhabenheit späterer Behemoth. Die blasphemischen Texte growlt LG so wütend und tief wie nie zuvor, die oft hochmelodischen Soli erzeugen Gänsehaut, Songs wie das brachiale Ruination oder die diabolische Hymne Lucifer Has Spoken sind nur zwei der durchweg hochklassigen Nummern und Modin knüppelt euch mörderisch tight ins Death-Metal-Elysium.
