Description
This is a RARE original U.S. pressing copy of the sole LP by electronic/psych group Fifty Foot Hose, released in 1968. From San Francisco, the group explores similar sonic territory to Joe Byrd's United States of America, Lothar and the Hand People, and Silver Apples, though with the partial exception of the latter, their record's vibe is darker. Their songs are by turns gentle and spacey ("If Not This Time," an unlikely cover of Billie Holiday's "God Bless the Child"), aggressive and rocking ("Red the Sign Post"), and experimental (the album closing title track, the extended track "Fantasy"), but always at least somewhat unsettling -- a unique record! The jacket has a small cutout hole, and creasing and light wear in two corners (see photos), but is otherwise close to pristine -- EX(+). The disc has some scuffing and some loss of glossiness, and plays with mostly light surface noise (VG+). The record comes with a custom inner sleeve (VG+).
I am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
