Fear, however, had a fairly unique perspective -- they seemingly embraced punk as an efficient way
to piss off everyone around them, and there's no arguing that they achieved their goals
with flying colors on their first and best album, The Record.
John Belushi was a big fan of Fear, because The Record sounds like the punk equivalent of the movie Animal House,
puerile, offensive, and often reveling in its own ignorance, but pretty entertaining on a non-think level while it lasts...(AllMusic)
Fear were a real punk band, mean, aggressive and provocative
- check out their unforgettable performance in ’Decline of Western Civilization’…
Their first LP already has several hardcore tracks which is a pity since they have their best moments
when they play rough, dirty but melodic punk rock like on Livin in the City.
Their faster tracks are simpler and tougher and remind me of early Nihilistics.
All in all this is a classic. [8]...(FLEX)
