Fats Gaines Band - “Fats Gaines Band Presents Zorina “Born To Danc"” Avamar Records No Number from 1983?. Super Hard To Find Original Private Press Modern Soul / Disco / Boogie 12" Vinyl Record album by Fats Gaines Band and Zorina on the Avamar Records label out of San Francisco. This one is one everybody’s list! As far as I can tell this was a 1983 issue, or at least that is the latest Trademark date listed. There is not a Catalog Number listed anywhere on the LP or the cover. Produced by John Parrish. Besides Mr. William C. Gaines and Carol Zorina London, it features the talents of Fred Barry, Tony Collins, Dean Boysen, Kraig Kilby, Edward Lewis, Kirk Perkins, Greg Gonaway, Grady Wilkens, Percy Scott, Larry White, Ethan Fox, Tony Crosley, Jerry Woods, Melvin Coleman, Brian Abbot, Gary Jackson and More! Features the Hit song “Born To Dance”!

CONDITION

The cover is still in it’s Original Shrink Wrap.There is maybe a very slight bit of corner softening but it’s really slight. There is some slight edge wear along the opening, again, really slight. Very solid with no splits, tears, writing, etc. and I think should easily rate Near Mint but I’m calling it EX because of that slight wear and to let you know that it is not quite perfect. The Vinyl itself is in super condition. Basically, looks to be unplayed or very close to it. It’s possible that you might find a slight sleeve scuff or two if you really look but, judging by the lack of any spindle trails on the labels and the overall pristine, glossy condition, I really think that it may never have been played. In any case, should easily rate Near Mint as would the labels.

Records are graded to the best of my ability to Goldmine Visual standards. If you are not familiar with this grading system (or even if you think you are!), please check it out before bidding I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words:
Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK.
Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them. I guarantee that items I sell will meet my description, nothing more or less!
