Extremely RARE BEATLES We Can Work it Out/Day Tripper STARLINE Red /White Label

 Up for sale here folks is the extremely rare and highly sought after April 1969 Capitol Records manufactured Beatles' 45 on the Red and White Star Line label!!! For the interesting history of this obscure 45, let's turn to the masters of our hobby: First, Mr. Bruce Spizer in his outstanding and laboriously researched book "THE BEATLES SWAN SONG" stated about this record at page 219 as follows:  "After Capitol phased out its swirl labels, the factory (Jacksonville) mistakenly pressed a very limited run on this single with the new red and white circle Star Line label Capitol 5555.55 (Spizer decimal system). This variation is extremely rare." Bruce also pictured on page 226 the 45 in its rare "Super Oldies" dust sleeve as I have done with mine in the above picture.  Bruce further writes, in his monstrously successful predecessor book "THE BEATLES STORY ON CAPITOL RECORDS" Part One (2007) at page 88 (with record label photos), that "this variation, Capitol 5555.55 (Spizer) is the only Beatles 45 pressed with this label and is one of the rarest and most valuable of the Capitol singles." Now on to our US record collecting and expert valuator Mr. Perry Cox: Perry, along with his co-author Mr. Frank Daniels wrote in their amazing 2007 book "PRICE GUIDE FOR THE BEATLES AMERICAN RECORDS"  6th Edition as follows on page 24: "the mistake was quickly realized and production halted. This item is a unique rarity and is valued accordingly." Perry and Frank further pictured and valued the 45 in 2007 on page 80 as: $3000 in Near Mint Condition! If you are a serious Beatles' US record collector and do not own any of the above referenced books, you need to obtain them...these books are the "bible" so to speak and the written authority for US collectors..I apologize in advance to these fine authors if these quotes are inappropriate...

Next, on to my record and sleeve....I obtained this little jewel directly from Perry Cox in approximately 2006.....It is in Excellent condition as the pictures indicate but I will go further...Side A: We Can Work It Out: minor scuffs on the label....the vinyl retains all of its gloss....there appears to be a small paper pressing line running from the play hole to the label's edge going between the "w" and "o" of the word "work".. you have to look very hard to notice it...the numbers hand etched in the trail off area is as follows: 45 45377 5555 P15 #2.....there is a hand etched "o" at the 12 o'clock postion in the trail off area....minor scuffing on the vinyl but it plays through perfectly...this record likewise has the "picket" raised edge stamping (my words) in the perimeter area around the label....Side B: "Day Tripper"...the vinyl retains all of its gloss..there are very light pressing marks near the title, possibly from previous stacking of other 45s with the "picket"  edging (my words) that are pressed on the perimeter around the paper label...minor scuffing on the vinyl here and there....hand etched in the trail off area are the following numbers: 45 45378 5555 P15 #1....there is a hand etched "o" at the 9 o'clock position in the trail off area also....the "Super Oldies dust sleeve is in near mint condition for its 44 year age....
