Exmagma take more influence from the experimental side of US fusion rather than the Canterbury bands, but there's something Alan Gowen-esque about the manner in which it's difficult to tell what is composed and what is improvised. This gives affairs a very dreamlike vibe, not dissimilar to the second Gilgamesh album, just a bit more avant-garde and raw.
