"Let Us Not Forget" "National Airs of the Allies"
Thomas A. Edison New York Military Band
This is the rare and legendary recording of Edison's famous speech on the close of World War One, "Let Us Not Forget." The National Airs of the Allies is on the reverse side of the disc. The "Let Us Not Forget" side is take A, and the reverse is take C. Sonically, this disc is excellent. In fact, a very knowledgeable collector friend who once heard this recording indicated that he this is the best sounding copy he had ever heard. Please note that visually, this disc is not perfect. There are three small edge bites on the "National Airs" side, not affecting play. There is also a chip on the "Let Us Not Forget" side, which, while close to the grooves, does not affect play. In all, it's generally an E- visual grade. I have played this disc on a fair number of occasions, and have enjoyed every listen. If you are looking for a copy of this record, this is the one to buy, especially if you are into military history, foreign policy, or World War One. This will sound great on your phonograph, and I guarantee it.
