Description
The Contemporary Jazz Ensemble. Recorded in 1952 includes James Straney, piano, compositions, arrangements; Richard Lieb, compositions arrangements; Ed Summerlin, tenor sax; Bill Porter, drums; Bob Silberstein, alto sax; Neil Countney, bass. Very rare.
Cover: VG+ 1" split on the bottom edge at the insert edge. Light aging on the back cover. Fine overall condition.
Record: VG to VG+ Visually shows very light wear with several light rub marks. This is a very early 10" pressing. There are intervals of light groove noise. Also some clicks and pops. These vary from track-to-track. Much of this noise can be attributed the early 10" vinyl pressings from Prestige. It is difficult to grade as some of noise may be do to wear and some to the general pressing quality. Audibly checked.
