Description

ERASURE...........(disc 1-A side)She won't be home 3:28/(disc 2-B side) God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman 3:20 Kdisk Mastering Lacquers, Acetates, Dub Plates...TWO DISCS!!! This is a boxed set of 2 1-sided 10" mastering lacquers for the RARE She Won't Be Home (Lonely Christmas) Promotional single 45rpm PRO-S-3409

This is an Ultra-rare set of two 1-sided 10" Kdisc Mastering Labs U.S.A. acetates in the original box (see description below on acetates). The tracks are as follows: Disc 1 Side A is "She Won't Be Home" 3:28 and Disc 2 Side B (second disc) is "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman" 3:20 Only a few of these discs are in existence.  These discs are in Near Mint condition with nice shiny surfaces (see pictures).  The box is a little tattered and has some tears on it as well as light writing which says production, but it has done a great job of protecting the contents. I am VERY particular (check my feedback) and this is not like the trashed acetates you see so many of that are almost dull in finish from having been played like a record over and over.  Since I obtained these they have been stored out of the light and in a smoke-free environment.  Each acetate is unique (see comments on acetates below). This has been stored with care by me in a protective sleeve. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to obtain an amazing set of acetates.

Description excerpt below taken from the book "Rare Rock A Collectors Guide" by Tony Rees

"Acetates: Aluminum discs of various sizes (7, 10 or 12 inch) with a thin coating of shellac or vinyl.  These discs are not pressed like regular vinyl issues.  Instead, they are INDIVIDUALLY cut by the master cutter as a "pre" test pressing to give directions as to how the final cut should go.  As such, EACH acetate is unique, and acetates constitute some of the rarest items in the whole field of record collecting."

Additional information on "Acetates" obtained from a UK seller's description on their site.

"Acetate/Lacquer Is usually a reference cut that is made on ultra high-grad methyl cellulose sprayed onto thick aluminum discs. Reference acetates are primarily to make certain the record will sound somewhat like the tape. Often they are also made to allow a club or radio disc-jockey to play the music on turntables before it has been pressed as a normal record. Acetate is a misnomer (but frequently used!). It is actually a Lacquer."
