Description

Howdy there.   Boy this is a Rare one to find- took me forever once upon a time; Still,  I have decided to do a no reserve auction on this one. You are looking at a fantastic copy of this LP by Emil Richards called "New Sound Element- Stones." This one was recorded in 1966/1967 and is on the UNI label in stereo # 73008.  Technically , this LP condition is a VG+, but in the item description line, i mentioned the condition is NM  because, on the vinyl, there is only one  visually detectable surface mark on one side and it doesn't affect play in the least. This copy was property of a radio station and plays like NM.  I have listened to it several times recently on a new stylus. I collect and appreciate vinyl and i want you to have a good record you are happy with.

The label on the vinyl is perfect and clean with no markings at all.  The cover, as you can see, has a sticker  vertically down the left side with the Date/Time/Band columns to be filled in by radio DJs. The backside of cover toward top right has an ink stamp in dark blue that says "AUDITION RECORD" then later below, someone wrote in red ball point ink "Production Record" and then down at bottom there is another ink stap in light blue that says "PROPERTY OF KRFM MUSIC LIBRARY." You can see it in the photo somewhat. Apart from the markings i have listed, the cover is in VG+ shape with only slight signs of ringwear. This LP, according to Emil Richards himself, was the first west coast record with a Moog synthesizer used on it. It was even recorded about 6 months prior to the Mort Garson/Jacques Wilson  Zodiac/Cosmic Sounds LP, which Richards himself played on as well, as did Paul Beaver, who is resposible for the Moog playing and programming on this Stones recording and the Zodiac/Cosmic Sounds recording.

Musicians credited here are: Emil on Synthesizer ( doesn't say which kind)  and all mallet instruments, Mike Craden on Percussion, Joe Porcaro on drums , Dave Mackay on piano, Bill Plummer on bass and Paul Beaver on Moog Synthesizer and Clavinet.  LP was produced by Marshall Lieb and engineered by Dave Weichman.

There are 12 tracks in all, one for each stone/month of the year.  There is a little paragraph noting the rhythmic cycles/patterns/time signatures  for each song so you can "count along." You'll do some serious counting, take my word for it.

Please email with any questions.   Any domestic winner will receive delivery confirmation in postage. Happy bidding and thanks for looking!!
