Rare set of all 5 Elvis 78 SUN records, these are late 1960's/1970's bootlegs that were purchased from the Elvis-O-Rama Museum in Las Vegas before it closed, they were then made into a framed display and was stunning, however the 2-sided tape used in the dead wax area to hold the records started to loosen and slip, so we removed them and the information plate. we cleaned the records and tested them, I don't think they were even played prior to us testing them, they have a hot loud sound with mostly minimal background noise but there is some to be expected and only a few occasional pops. These are made on thick 10" vinyl and look identical to the originals, they have J- and record number in each dead wax area. CONDITION: The info aluminum plate is excellent w/ some tape residue on back, the records are conservatively VG+ TO VG++ a couple labels have some tape glue residue either on or near them due to being previously displayed. Also record # 217 has a small pinch mark in the outside edge, possibly from when made, it does not enter or affect the vocal track. at about the 16 to 17 second mark on That's Alright there is a 1 second channel loss, its very fast and not really noticed except when wearing phones, but thought I'd mention it, if you listen to my compilation recording below,that's alright is the second to last song and you may or may not be able to hear what i mention above at about 16 seconds into the song its very fast and slight. see photos for label conditions, only a couple record sides have some very light scratch marks, many sides have none, all have great Shine.
these would be great to display if done right!
I tested and recorded on a BSR using Shure MD71 needle, probably better sound when a better needle for 78 is used?
