It all started back in 1954 with this very single!
July 5 & 7 of 1954 saw the birth of rock n' roll with the release of "That's All Right" & "Blue Moon of Kentucky" as the A & B sides of a single recorded by a 21 year old truck driver in Memphis at the request of Sam Philips for his Sun Records label. The rest, as they say, is history!
To commemorate Record Store Day 2010 Legacy Records re-released the "Single Heard Around The World" as a limited edition. This is a must for any record collection!
So what makes this record so RARE?
Every year, on the 3rd Saturday of April, “Record Store Day” is celebrated. “Record Store Day” is a special day to honor independent record stores and their contribution to music over the years. The record labels and artists have joined the celebration by providing special limited edition releases for “Record Store Day” only and are only available at participating independent record stores. According to the official “Record Store Day” website there are only approximately 700 participating stores in the United States. So, you can see why a limited edition to commemorate one day at only 700 stores across the United States would make a record or CD rare!
Special picture discs, colored vinyl, reissues, etc. are available only while supplies last and many are numbered of limited production! This makes them a necessity for any collector to have in their collection.
