Black VICTOR Company of Japan (Yokohama) label, Stereo Tape, STP-5035, 4 track, 19 cm/s

complete with Original BOX, Tape, Photo booklet with japanese songtext/ lyric inside and information sheet showing other artists on japanese reels (H. Belafonte and others....)

The only existing Elvis reel tape from Japan, NO REPRO or BOOT!!!!!

Condition:

Box: Good  complete, but heavy wear, stains (partly water damage), condition ok for its age, sadly this is far less condition than the tape; brauchbarer Zustand für ein 40 Jahre altes Cover, allerdings Schäden durch Feuchtigkeit, jedoch komplett; 

Tape: Exellent  great shape, labels also near perfect, very light use overall, nearly impossible to get better, however visual inspection only as i dont have a suitable machine to play, so i cannot guarantee for the sound of this one!! Sehr guter Zustand, leichte Gebrauchsspuren, insg. TOP; Tonband konnte nicht getestet werden, da kein passendes Abspielgerät vorhanden

Stunning rarity, only offered once or perhaps twice in ebay since over 10 years! Normally you only see the US reels for sale, however there was also a reel tape made in Japan by the Victor Company which released all Elvis records for the Japanese market. But this reel tape is far much rarer than all US issues, even most collectors from Japan dont know its existance. Very important to know that this reel tape is no Fake, Repro or any other kind like that. But all Japan reels including these from other artists are nearly impossible to find, and the few which are for sale are offered for more than 1000 dollars. As there is nearly no information to collect, its likely that these tapes were only made for promotion purpose at radio stations. The other theory is that the Victor company wanted to establish in the mid 1960s reel to reel tapes on the market similar to USA. But this experiment clearly failed and i dont think they released more tapes than this one. As said, original Japan reel to reel on Victor label, Soundtrack from California Holiday (US: Spinout), included in the offer is the original box, the original gatefold booklet with nearly same print as on the box itself and a Promo sheet in japanese language which shows pictures from other artists on reel tapes. Absolute Ausnahmerarität unter den Elvis Sammlerstücken weltweit: Original Elvis Presley Tonband mit dem Soundtrack von California Holiday (Spinout) aus JAPAN!! Die meisten Sammler kennen sicherlich die Tonbänder, die in den 60er Jahren in den USA veröffentlicht wurden. Bei dem hier angebotenen Tonband aus Japan dürfte es sich jedoch fast um ein Einzelstück handeln. Tonband ist jedoch ein Original, hergestellt ca. 1966/67 in Japan von Victor, die in diesen Jahren Elvis Vinyl für den japanischen Markt produzierten. Da es zu diesem Tonband nahezu keine Information gibt und selbst japanische Elvis-Sammler unbekannt ist, folgende Vermutung: Das Tonband war entweder als einmaliges Promo Tape für japanische Radio-Stationen gedacht oder der Markt in Japan hat die Tonbänder schlichtweg abgelehnt als Alternative zu Vinyl. Habe das Tonband in 10 Jahren ebay nur einmal gesehen, mit Sicherheit gab es von Elvis in Japan keine weiteren Tonband-Veröffentlichungen! Extrem seltenes Original Tonband aus den 60er Jahren komplett mit sämtlichen Beilagen (Booklet mit Elvis Photo, Werbeblatt mit Photos von anderen Reel tapes), daher hoher Startpreis.
