Description

VERY RARE original Indianapolis LPM-1254 pressing of Elvis' earth-shattering debut from March 23, 1956 on RCA's deep groove black label with large Nipper The Dog at the top, pale pink and green lettering and logo box on the cover (Presley is in neon green on later pressings and the logo box is black), the sixth song on the side A label, Just Because, is erroneously credited to P.D. (this was corrected on the 1956 Indianapolis repress to Bob Shelton/Joe Shelton/Sid Robin), "NEW ORTHOPHONIC" HIGH FIDELITY to the right of the center hole and Elvis' name in small print above it on the labels, Camden, New Jersey address in the lower label rim text!!!

LP visually is a Good Plus grading. It plays better than it looks, it plays at a Good Plus to Very Good grading. The entire LP has been played on a high-quality turntable and there are no skips. It plays w/some background noise and very few pops. ORIGINAL Cover is a Good Plus grading, with a 4” split at the bottom and 3” split on the top, small piece of tape on back and lightly written “4/4/56” in pencil on back. The main spine is worn but only has very slight split near the bottom corner. The cover also has light stains and slight ringwear. ORIGINAL inner sleeve has split at bottom. (See photos of LP, cover, and sleeve to view specifics.)

This was the shot heard 'round the world when released to an unsuspecting public 70 years ago and remains one of only a handful of LPs seismic enough to have changed the entire musical landscape. One of the most important and influential LPs in the entire history of recorded music and an incredible piece of rock and roll history.

LP has been ultrasonically cleaned, original cover and original sleeve have been cleaned.

LP matrix side A: G2 PP1282-1S; side B: G2 PP1283-1S.

I have a 100% eBay seller rating. I have been collecting vinyl albums for many years and know how to grade LPs accurately and conservatively. Check out the photos, as well as the written info for the LP. Contact me with questions if you have any. Thank you!
