Description

This is the record that started it all. Elvis was truly an original. Take a close look at the album cover. Look at how it captures the essence of the man. The cover has been copied by the Clash as well as K.D. Laing. This is how he will be remembered. Beautiful, Vibrant and One of a kind!
There are a number of these albums for sale but none like this one. It is the absolute first release!
The jacket features the pastel pink and green as well as the colored box in the upper right. The jacket has very little ring wear and has no tears, rips seam splits or abrasions. I rate it VG++.
The vinyl is in great shape. Still has luster and shine. It has only surface marks from being put in and out of it's sleeve. I also rate it VG++.
I try to stick as close as possible to the Goldmine rating scale.
The label tells the tale of the age. It is in black with silver print. It features a tiny little "Nipper" under the RCA. RCA changed to the larger color Nipper in around 1956 - the year this record was recorded.. Finding this record with this label is very rare. Additionally "Long Play" is on the bottom of the label at 6 o'clock. Just where it should be. The label itself is in awesome shape with very few spindle marks.
It also has the original sleeve and it as well is in great shape.Check the other listings on this site and you will see the difference.
The only way to get a closer approximation as to it's age is to carbon date it!!
Shipping will be determined at the end of the auction due to the insured value of the record. I am listing numerous other records be sure to check those as well. and just to tease you a bit more. I also have Moody Blue on black vinyl in excellent condition.
Thank you, thank you very much!

I have been informed by another eBay member that there are first release versions of "Elvis Presley" "LPM 1254" where song #6 on side #1 "Just Because" is creditied to "P.D." - Public Domain. Every record that I have been able to research lists, Shelton, Shelton and Sydney as the song authors.  To uncover the truth, I have researched the Goldmine and Osborne record guides. I have combed the internet for articles. I have contacted other vintage record dealers, I have even gone to the library. I can find no evidence that the member's claims are true. As you know, there are very few absolutes in the world. So, to appease this individual, I am removing the word absolute from my listing. That will leave room for the possibility that it does exist. Now, if you should happen to have one of these special first, first release copies you could be sitting on a goldmine. It is probably the rarest of the rare Presley records.
