THIS IS IT. The hardest one to find, and yet a 2-Tone collection is not complete without it.
This is an original 2-Tone Elvis Costello & The Attractions Single 7" 45 featuring "I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down" on the A side with "Girls Talk" on the B side.
The legend goes like this... In early 1980 Elvis Costello was going to leave Stiff Records. He intended to sign with 2-Tone, but it was legally blocked from happening. 2-Tone must have felt pretty confident that Elvis was going to sign, because they went ahead and pressed some copies of "I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down" with "Girls Talk" on the B side. As soon as it became clear that Elvis was not going to be able to sign to 2-Tone, it was withdrawn from the market prior to the release due to legal action.
The point of the story is that this 45 is extremely rare! The few copies of this single that do exist were given away at gigs in London and New York City. Hard to find in any condition, this one is in outstanding shape for a 40+ year old single.

Prospective buyers have asked if this single has crossed out matrix numbers in the dead wax. Yes it does. The original etched matrix numbers were crossed out and replaced with stamped matrix numbers of CHS-TT-7A1 & CHS-TT-7B1
These don't come up on eBay too often, and when they do they are often located in the UK. This one is in the US. Get it now before it's gone!
