Sensational jazz drummer Elvin Jones' tribute to Coltrane, and even though saxophonist Charlie Mariano is no John Coltrane, the album is a career highlight for him. An excellent session with stellar playing by all participants, that's why a fist (stereo) pressing is such a worthy find.

The stereo version of this original release is a bit rarer than the mono, and that's why it has a higher book value. Engineered and mastered by Rudy Van Gelder, and that's why VAN GELDER is stamped in the runout.

COVER = VG (edge wear at lower left corner top and bottom, name written inside gatefold, right side); VINYL = VG ( a few hairlines both sides, completely play-tested, minor surface noise here and there, occasional light tick(s) but overall, an enjoyable listening experience)
