Description
Ellen Ballon, pianist, born Montreal 1898, died there 21 Dec. 1969, was a child prodigy, studied with Clara Lichtenstein, was praised by Josef Hofmann, whose pupil she became later. Debut in New York in March 1910. Studied now with Josef Hofman and Wilhelm Backhaus in Vienna. First major European tour in 1927, returned to North America. Long a friend and admirer of the composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, she performed many of his works.

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible
3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible
4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible
5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
