Electro Keyboard Orchestra draw you deep into their intoxicating world of international rhythm and melody from the first moment of the first tune. IT's lead by a snaking melody that brings to mind gypsy music and is underpinned by an almost rocksteady dub rhythm. The album first dropped in 1985 and was a result of 20 synthesizers being operated by eight of Japan's leading keyboard players. It is a truly captivating affair that takes in jazz-funk, rare-groove and hip hop styles throughout its course and amongst them is 'The Iron Side' which was of course used as the theme for the US TV detective drama of the same name. A real gem.
