Original 1974 lp on RCI (Radio Canada International) (428)
Electric Ninja Group - Pacific Rim/ Sunship Ensemble.
Scarce RCI title and such a hard one to find. Includes the fantastic ‘The Star Of India’ as featured on the first Do Right! Canadian Jazz compilation some time back. Also ‘Wayang Gong’ and ‘Atlantis Rising’ both superb with a deep eastern vibe throughout. Side two features The Sunship Ensemble with 'Atlantis Rising' which was included in the second Do Right! Deep Canadian Jazz retrospective that followed on from Volume One. Also the breathtaking 'Inca' and 'The Great Wall Of China'. Inspired compositions and interesting instrumentation make this album an above average listen to say the least.
Vinyl has just a few ‘shadowy manufacture markings’ visible under direct light and two or three very slight surface scuffs. Overall very clean and sound quality is good throughout with just minor background due to pressing quality detectable in some passages. Jacket has some small ink writing to top right front (see pic). Small ink stamp to bottom left rear (see pic) and very minor general wear. Still in shrink, though the shrink is not complete and is torn. (vg+/vg)
