EAST OF EDEN ~ MERCATOR PROJECTED LP

Original 1969 U.K. first issue stereo pressing released on the red & white Deram label SML 1038.

Description :

Very rare and hard to find prog psych classic that has become increasingly collectable over the last few years.

Mercator Projector was the 1969 debut album by British progressive rock band East Of Eden, who had a Top 10 hit in the UK with the single, "Jig-a-Jig", in 1971. The track became something of a stylistic albatross around the band's neck, since it did not resemble their usual sound or anything else they normally played. Although some might consider this group as being a symphonic progressive band, others state that their style is mostly jazz oriented. Combining flutes, violins and tape loops to folk, gypsy and psychedelic music, the East of Eden style was always heavily supported on a pure rock base both strong and experimental.

Condition ~ Vinyl :

The vinyl is in great condition with just the faintest signs of wear. Easily EXCELLENT condition. Gorgeous!!!

Audio Quality :

The sound quality is superb with virtually no background noise at all, hardly even a click or a pop.

Condition ~ Sleeve :

The classic front laminated sleeve is in overall decent shape with some light creases in the laminate. No splits, tears or writing although on the rear there is some light ring wear and a patch of scuffing under the group photo in the white area. Therefore VG condition.

Condition ~ Labels :

Both labels have no writing. Just some light smudges and a few spindle marks.

Condition ~ Inner Sleeve :

Comes complete with the original white & blue stereo poly-lined inner sleeve which is in decent shape with no splits.
