Description

This is the rare original mono pressing of Donald Byrd "Blackjack" on the Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4259.  The playing surface is in virtually new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once.  The cover shows light ring wear on the front and minor rubbing on the bottom seam.  This is one of seventeen mono Blue Note issues that were provided to radio stations vthat had not yet converted to stereo transmission.  They are most easily identified by the "MONO" sticker that overlays the stereo catalogue number on the jacket front.  Illustrated inner sleeve is included.

Personnel include Sonny Red, Hank Mobley, Cedar Walton, Walter booker, and Billy Higgins.
