Description
For auction here is an original mono copy of "Dusk Fire" which was issued in 1966.Although this album is rare and sought after,this copy has some extra things about it.For one;it is autographed by all five band members and the writing is very clear in all cases.Three of the autographs start "To Sheila" with love from ......This lady,Sheila lived in North London in the "swinging" sixties and seems to have been more than just an anonymous fan.Four of the signiatures are on the back cover and the fifth is on a piece of paper pasted onto the inner sleeve (which is not the original EMI inner,unless I am mistaken).
There are some extra things which came with this album too.One being a picture of a beach with a glowing sunset which is similar in mood to the album's cover photo.Also there's a review of the band's gig at the Camden Town Hall,Jan 1967,from a cutting from "Melody Maker".
Condition wise the cover is close to VG+ and the vinyl is between VG and VG+.This album has obviously been played fairly often,however the record plays very well.There is no wear or distortion and the sound is clear and fine.Also there are no jumps or sticking anywhere on the record.The vinyl surface has some fairly light marks,but not that many.There are a couple of slightly deeper marks which give lightish ticks in some places.These are Track 1,side 1 = which has a tick for about 2 mins.Track 3,side 1 = ticks for about eight revs.Track 1,side two = has ticks for 20 revs and then a further 20 a bit later.The other four tracks are fine.Even with a few marks the music always comes through loud and clear,as one would expect from a quality "Columbia" original pressing.
