Description
Purple label with silver text. The identification at the bottom of the label is "A product of Prestige Records, 203 S. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. The address at the bottom of the back cover is New Jazz Records, 203 So. Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J. 6 tracks recorded on March 13, 1962. The name "VAN GELDER" is inscribed in the dead wax on both sides of the record. Leader, Dizzy Reece, trumpet; Cecil Payne, baritone sax; Joe Farrell, tenor sax, flute; Hank Jones, piano; Ron Carter, bass; Charli Persip, drums. Rare.
Cover: Good (-) Top edge and spine have completely split. 1" split on the bottom edge. Small stain mark from a former sticker on the front cover near the insert edge. A few minor tears along the spine on the back cover. Light overall aging.
Record: Mint(-) Visually shows no wear. Mo markings on the vinyl surface. Played only 2 or 3 times with care. Small discoloration mark on the edge of 1 label. On Side A, Track 2, very light groove noise on the first 3 or 4 revolutions, barely audible. Several crackles on the last 1 or 2 revolutions on Track 2 and on Track 3, groove noise on the first 2 or 3 revolutions. No surface noise on Side B. Fine, collectable condition. Audibly checked.
