Audio on these records is AWESOME. Near perfect presentation with phenomenal track listing-Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Child in Time, Space Truckin…and more….The listener might as well be in the front row of one of their concerts!!! Live performances from Japan ,recorded in Osaka and Tokyo on 15-17 August 1972!!! Silent grooves between tracks and crystal clear reception. Absolutely sensational!!!Electric guitars screech and grate from the speakers like pneumatic drills. Never heard anything quite like this .Takes you way back to those concert gigs that blew ones mind away!
Fantastic sleeve with little damage to report.Gorgeous shiny gold glossy double opening gatefold .Few creases to the laminate,no wear showing on edges and corners are still nice and sharp. Just the tiniest of grey appearing at the tips.Spine solid and square.Opens to an awesome vibrant tangerine/crimson inner face.Printed by Garrod and Lofthouse confirming a first issue. UK made and printed. Excellent + grading.
Labels
Very first issue with “Gramophone Co. text” round top perimeter.Mint minus condition and look superb with little to fault. No fading or discoloration. No mottling or lifting. Beautiful example of a very early press.Nice relief detail and a great collectors item.Just a few spiderlines to report, otherwise appear near perfect.
Vinyls
Appear near perfect. All four surfaces are virtually unmarked save for 3 or 4 very light surface marks which do not affect the audio quality. This grading is as seen under ordinary conditions.Beautiful vinyls and look quite remarkable considering they are 33 years of age.
Thick chunky press characteristic of an early seventies production and have an awesome feel.Nice polished mirror like sheen on all surfaces.
What more can I say except I don’t know why I am parting with this album!!! Must be very scarce to find a monumental first press like this in such a stunning condition.Audio takes your breath away as the tones are razor sharp and the aural delivery is very near perfection. Will drive Purple fans wild as this album has all their wonderful tracks on.The very first press of this huge live double album is awesome as first UK issues are renowned for that extra loud cut and these channels give THE best audio ever heard!Sensational package on offer here with an audio conveying sharp tones and crystal channels which provide a perfect base to hear Purples best rock ballads. Truly awesome. Will be difficult to match.
