Description

An original 1st press of Machine Head on UK Purple label. Matrix 1/1. "Gramophone" in the perimeter text as must be present for 1st issue.  Lovely heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. There's also the original three panel lyric poster.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection I can make out a few slight marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with just a couple of minor deviations per side.  Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Great energy from this near-master copy and a very capable player. I detected a few minor crackles in the quiet moments of Lay - but that was pretty minor. And against the mighty riffage of Blackmore...it is barely worth mentioning! A blast!
Cover (Ex-) In great condition for the vintage and not warn out like so many other examples. Front looks tidy. Interior has avoided the ageing process. The rear is clean too with some creasing.  Slight edge wear in the odd spot. Spine exhibits some wear but text mostly still legible. Overall the cover retains very good rigidity.
Poster (Vg+) No splits. Some creasing.
