Dan McCafferty "Dan McCafferty"
This is a US vinyl pressing on A&M 4553 from 1975. This is a test pressing. This was his 1st solo album. It comes in a plain white cover with an 8 X 11 loose info sheet. The back cover is blank white.
Dan McCafferty was in Nazareth, the Scottish rock and roll band. All of the songs on this album are covers, includes songs written by Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jagger & Richards, and Lowell George.
Why are test pressing so rare ?? A test pressing is the very first pressing of a record. It's made so that the artist, producer, engineer, and record company executives can approve the record. They are pressed in extremely limited numbers ( like 50 to 100 ) and are never repressed. They are sent out before the cover and labels have been printed.
The songs are : Honky Tonk Downstairs, Cinnamon Girl, Great Pretender, Boots Of Spanish Leather, Watcha Gonna Do About It, Out Of Time, You Can't Lie To A Liar, Trouble, You Got Me Hummin', and Stay With Me Baby.
Overall Condition : Cover : M- / Record : M
The cover is M-. There are no seam splits and there is no ring wear. There is writing on the cover ( his name ) . The info sheet is in nice condition. The vinyl looks mint and it plays mint. The labels say 'A&M Test Pressing' and none of the information is written on them. The matrix numbers are : Side 1 : A&M SP 4843 M1 and Side 2 :A&M SP 4844 M1 .
I will package this record between two pieces of 1/2 inch thick cardboard. ( It's so thick that you will save it and use again. ) It will weigh 21 ounces ( 1 pound, 5 ounces ) when ready to ship. You can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail. It will be sent by First Class Mail International to overseas buyers. ( Buyers from Italy will assume all risks for shipping to their country) I will send it as soon as you pay ( same day of before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM ) I will combine postage if you win more than one record. This record is from a no smoking and no pets home.
