1st South Africa 1984 pressing of this MEGA RARE LP from the late South African Jazz Saxophonist who played with Dollar Brand. Volindlela VUL 6001 pressing 1984. Cover VG+/EX. Vinyl EX/NM. Please note buyer to pay £20 Registered Airmail from Cape Town. Thank you! Biography from WIKI: Makasi led the Soul Jazzmen with Tete Mbambisa , who recorded the album Inhlupenko in 1969. In the seventies he founded the fusion band Spirits Rejoice with Sipho Gumede and Bheki Mseleku , who released two albums and had great success with Paradise Song . He also played with Jabu Nkosi , Barney Rachabane , Dennis Mpale , Gumede and Enoch Mtlelane in the Roots group. Later he toured with Darius Brubeck . [2] With Johnny Fourie and Carlo Mombelli he started in 1985 the group Abstractions , which made a record in 1987. Makasi can also be heard on albums by Abdullah Ibrahim ( African Herbs , 1975; Soweto , 1978) and Tete Mbambisa .
