What are Droids? Well aside from the obvious answer, there is this French pioneering electronic/disco group. It is space themed electronic music that is named after "Star Wars", some songs are even Star Wars related ("Do You Have The Force Pt. 1" and "Do You Have The Force Pt. 2" for example), and there even sound effects that may have been from the movie in here too. I like Star Wars, but I never gave it a thought musically I must admit. It actually sounds like what Black Devil might sound like were they to make a space themed album. Although mainly instrumental (barring the cool occasional robot noises) it's very interesting and it's compelling. "Be Happy" was probably my favorite, it's almost like some weird angular chase music for robots...yeah you'll want to hear it I'm quite sure. The "Do You Have The Force" duo of songs are really fun too, but instead of naming every song on the album I'd just say to experience the entire thing. The album actually blends together really impressively and it works better as more of a whole instead of in parts I think. What's really surprising is that this is their only release and that little is known of Droids because truly this is some skilled synth work. If this sounds like your cup 'o tea I'm most sure it will be, because knowing what it was I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but after hearing it I'm definitely sold.
