Description

This is an auction for a rare LP by Downliners Sect- The Country Sect.

This was released on Columbia Records in 1965 and has catalogue number 33SX1745. This is the 1st pressing with a flipback sleeve and is mono.

Matrix Numbers- XAX 2872 1 XAX 2873 1

Condition: The sleeve has some discolouring marks, some of which will clean of the front laminated surface. The bottom flipback edge is unstuck and has curled some what, there are two small tears to this flipback edge but it is complete and can be stuck back down. Lastly there are a few small lamination creases. Spine fine, lamination at mouth fine, complete and graded at a very strict good. Stick back the flipback and upgrade to VG.

Labels: Both labels are clean, under closer examination some spider spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole shows some signs of wear.

Vinyl- both sides retain there new shine, when examined under a strong light numerous scratches can be seen and one scuff mark.

I have played this through both sides and found that the above mentioned scratches and scuff mark are just about non-audible. A few crackles aside this plays fine. The music itself plays with no major deterioation in sound quality and does not suffer from sound reduction through wear.

This one is graded at VG and perhaps sounds slightly better. A worthy addition to any collection..
