Description

The Downliners Sect LP – The Rock Sect's In - UK original mono pressing on Columbia label from 1966, catalogue number SX 6028, matrix numbers XAX 3022-1 and XAX 3023-1.

The record is in EX- condition. It looks bright and very clean, with just a few light surface marks. There is one small light scratch at the beginning of side 2, across part of each of the first 2 tracks. It is fairly light, and it causes only minor clocking for a short time. Other than that, there is just a little crackling here and there, mainly between the tracks and the occasional click and pop.

 

The label on side 1 is clean, with signs that it has been played a fair bit. The label on side 2 has obviously had a strip of sticky tape on it at some time, and its removal has also take off the surface of the label. this is about 2 inches in length and 1/4 inch depth. The flipback sleeve is also EX-. The spine is in good shape, with no scuffing, and title and artist name perfectly legible.There is some scuffing to the corners, particularly the bottom right corner. There is also a little evidence of ringwear, and a few small light creases. The back is a little grubby, but not overly so.

 

Overall, a nice copy of a rare record. Due to the nature of 60s parties, not many will have survived a well as this. I have pointed out the faults as I see them, and I have tried to be as honest and accurate as possible. Despite these, this record is difficult to find, and it plays well. If you are prepared to accept a few imperfections, you will be pleased with it.
