Description
Here is an eight inch 33rpm record of Doris Day made for Fan clubs in England. It's old. It's worn but I played it on my record player and it sounded fine. I would think these are more of a collectible than something you'd play over and over again anyway. The audio quality while good is low which I imagine is inherent from the original transfers.
One side is Doris Day at the Savoy (runtime 4:11 approx.). The other side is In Town Tonight With Doris Day (runtime 6:14 approx.).
It sounds as if Doris is eating lunch at the Savoy while she's being interviewed.
On this recording you will hear Miss Day mention currently filming THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, Alfred Hitchcock and James Stewart. She also mentions the rlease of LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME with James Cagney.
Doris sings bits of READY, WILLING AND ABLE and SECRET LOVE.
She also talks about wearing a bikini for the first time! Va va va voom!
I have two similar Doris Day fan club records up for auction at this time. One is a 10 inch record the other 12 inch. Both are 33 rpm as well.
