Recorded by RUDY VAN GELDER at Van Gelder Studios, Englewood Cliffs, NJ on December 11, 1961; personnel: WAYNE SHORTER tenor sax, DONALD BYRD trumpet, HERBIE HANCOCK piano, BUTCH WARREN acoustic bass, BILLY HIGGINS drums. 

NOTE: This LP was released in October 1966, a few months after Liberty bought Blue Note. Some first pressings were still issued with the remaining NY label blanks while others were released with the new "Division of Liberty" labels. However, the jacket and inner sleeve still make no mention of Liberty, as they were likely printed earlier that year prior to the sale.

Vinyl: EX condition; glossy stereo vinyl; very clean; side 2 is near mint, side 1 has one lightly feelable mark (see photo) in the 3rd track that creates only some mild background; record plays nice with no skips or repeats.

Cover: VG+ condition; sturdy cardboard jacket; edge & corner wear; rub-wear; yellowing; corner-clip (see photos for full condition details).

This item comes with the original Blue Note 1966 catalog inner paper sleeve.

Also comes with a new poly-vinyl dust cover & static-free inner sleeve.
