This record is seriously rare! Pioneers of Modern Jazz, innovators par excellence. You would think that enough to ensure great record sales, but if you are in the habit of trawling Ebay looking for their original 60s releases, you will no doubt end up scratching your head, double checking that you've spelled their names correctly, for why else would your search results yield a big fat zero!? Basically, their records sold in such low numbers, that the few copies to have survived are now well ensconced in Jazz collector's record libraries! If you have not had the good fortune to add this to your collection, here is a rare chance to do so! Do not miss this opportunity!

VINYL IN EXCELLENT- CONDITION
UNLAMINATED SLEEVE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION

Very nice condition vinyl, with absolutely no significant problems to note. Very light surface marks/sleeve removal marks and the finest occasional hairline only, and absolutely no horrendous scratches. The record plays extremely well throughout, with only light interference and occasional ticks in the quietest areas. The unlaminated sleeve is very strong and respectable, with the usual edgewear to note. No splits or tears. One small pen mark to the rear (see below), but otherwise no problems. I think the fact that the majority of these sleeves were unlaminated shows how little was invested by Columbia into record manufacture for this quintet. Until last week I was under the impression that this sleeve was only issued unlaminated, until I found a copy with a laminated sleeve! I couldn't believe it! I've kept that copy for myself, but one thing that I did learn from this, was that what I believed to be general ringwear to the front of this sleeve, is, in fact, part of the black and white photo used n the sleeve design. Look below, where you will see the two sleeves superimposed one on top of the other, and you will see that both display what looks like ringwear to the lower area. This is, in fact, part of the photo! So, most of the sleeves that you believe look pretty rough, are in fact, a lot better than you at first thought, this being one of them! This sleeve, apart from the edgewear so typical for this sleeve, is in very respectable condition. Together with a very nice vinyl, this is a must-have item for Jazz collectors. Of particular note for me on this album "Les Neiges D'Antan" and the staggering "Black Marigolds", a Michael Garrick composition that seduces you on first listening, and that then never ceases to amaze you on every subsequent play. Superb!
