Description
From 1976, out of New York, comes Dobie Gray with his seven track album on Tiger Lily Records TL14022. Rare seven track album issued by Tiger Lily Records which was a division of Roulette. Many small labels in New York were part of Roulette and they existed solely to lose money for Roulette! Tiger Lily Records and some of the other small labels somehow issued tracks by artists who had no idea their material was going to come out! In 1988 I visited a woman who worked for Tiger Lily Records-she had been the total staff! They consisted of one room, a desk, a chair, a phone and a door with their name on it. Tiger Lily was run by Roulette who was headed by Morris Levy. There are many books out on the FBI,Morris Levy and records! This LP falls into the category of the artist not knowing about its release and sounds like it was recorded in the late 60s! This is not surprising, as the song Do You Really Have A Heart by Dobie was issued on White Whale records in 1969! Other songs on this album include Lo And Behold, Stop Pickiting, Allan P. Adder, This Feeling Won't Last Long, The End, and Just The Way. Extremely rare! This LP was purchased from that employee of Tiger Lily and it is only the second time I have seen this record!
