Standing proud for nearly two decades as a band stretching the very shape of metal, The Dillinger Escape Plan have managed to shift and evolve whilst still maintaining the alternately frenziedly chaotic and intrepidly experimental signature style that has birthed a thousand-and-on copyists and encouraged many a musician to sort their chops out. 'Dissociation', however, is their farewell, and it's a fitting one, replete with their trademark hell-in-a-handbasket dementia yet also with considerable strength in depth and melodious appeal. We'll miss 'em.
