Dias De Blues s/t ORIGINAL URUGUAY LP Original Uruguayan pressing on the Discos de la Planta label from 1972. 
Condition:  Record: VG+ light hairlines but it plays great on my hi-end system. Flipback sleeve: VG+, signed on the back in 1973. It seems like it was a gift to Pappo from Pappo's blues.

[isdntekvideo] Dias De Blues' self-titled album, originally released by Discos De La Planta in 1973. Dias De Blues (Montevideo, Uruguay) was formed in 1972 by Jorge Barral (bass), Daniel Bertolone (guitar), and Jorge Graf (drums). They developed a blues and heavy rock proposal that was characterized by virtuosity of the musicians and blunt rhythmic base, mixed with the unusual strength, energy and aggressiveness. With all these elements they performed extensive improvisations. The lyrics that incorporated a plain, direct and politically incorrect language, were sung by Barral and Bertolone with rage and a clearly Uruguayan diction, though with certain John Mayall-style influence. Disenchantment with established society was part of the band's philosophy. For them, the name of the band, Dias De Blues meant "fucked up days", times of crisis, days of economic and cultural alienation, not just a reference to a musical style. 
"After the break-up of Opus Alfa in 1972, the keyboard player returned to his job as a sound engineer, the singer went solo and Bertolone, Barral and Graf formed the power trio Dias De Blues. Live shows began immediately, endorsed by the excellent background of its members. Their music, an absolutely wild and raw mixture of hyper electric drug-induced progressive blues with social-concerned lyrics, found influences on Cream, Led Zeppelin and Cactus. Their only LP, recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina by the end of 1972, captures the roughness and vitality of their concerts like many few groups ever managed to. Conceived inside the typical parameters of time, the album is an indisputable sample of progressive hard rock.
