Description
DIAL 1 mono LP Bartok Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion. William Masselos, piano, Maro Ajemian, piano, Saul Goodman, tympani, percussion, Abraham Marcus, xylophone, percussion. First Dial 12" classical record, issued 1950. (This is the same DIAL label that issued iconic 10" jazz LPs.) Vinyl 7.5/10, light scratches and scuffs, moderate spindle marks. Auditioned, plays well, with low frequency hum in master recording that is not intrusive once the music begins. Jacket 7.5/10 with paper scar and 1/2" tape on front, 8" tape on rear and spine (see image). Bumped lower left corner. Design by David Stone Martin, with small printed signature. Liner notes by Sidney Finkelstein. Generally nice condition for a record of this rarity and age.
