Description

DGG Avant Garde Box Set of 6 LPs, 2561106-2561111, stereo, Made in Germany.

A 6 LP set, but missing the box (which was a thick slipcase style cover - no information on box)(for example see my other DGG Avant Garde Box listed). This is a rare set, a good representation of 1960s European avant garde classical. It came from a library originally, and numbers have been removed from the covers (some taking a bit of cover with them). Generally it is in excellent condition, some sides appearing like new. Some sides have not been handled as well, leaving a few marks:

2561106: Franco Evangelisti "The Box" (1962-63) for 5 to 7 actors, voice, projector, small orchestra and tape recorder ; Heinz Holliger "The Magical Dancer" (1963-5).

Vinyl Excellent / Cover Excellent (marking top left from old library number sticker) Includes text inserts, both with library number stickers still on.

2561107: Cornelius Cardew "The Great Learning" (1969) The Scratch Orchestra. Recorded 1971, London.

Vinyl Excellent (except very small scratch causing 7 or 8 soft clicks)/ Cover Excellent (except small part removed top left by removal of library number sticker)

2561108: Roman Haubenstock-Ramati "Symphony K" (1967) ; Vinko Globokar "Etude Pour Folklora 2" (1968)

Vinyl VG+/EX (clean and shiny but long surface scratch, some other light marks, across Holliger side, some light crackling over last few minutes; Stockhausen side Excellent) / cover as for LP above

grading

Grading done visually and by playing a few sections. Any scratches tested. I aim to grade conservatively.

MINT means as new. If the record appears almost unplayed I use NEAR MINT. This is not a common grading.

EXCELLENT means played but well cared for, very little (if any) lessening in sound quality, no scratches. Cover may have very light wear. This is my most common grading. A quality used record!

VG+ means definitely played often but without any major deterioration in sound quality, may have some light surface wear, surface marks, or a small scratch or two. These will be detailed in my description. Cover has some wear, but no major creases or seam splits. A very good record!

VG means played to the point of developing surface wear, and/or some deeper scratches. These will be detailed. Cover displays general wear and tear.

Anything less will be described and not given a grading.
