From my personal collection! Purchased from new in 1972 and only ever played to record to tape! This has been stored in a case for all of its storage life with the vinyl seperated from the sleeve! This is how i have always stored my records! Unbelievably rare like this! Top! Top! near mint audio! throughout! Very rare and collectable to find like this, barely ever played original! Please note! What makes this so desirable is not only its condition but the vinyl features the earliest ''1'' to ''1'' Mother Stampers and the Earliest matrix (From my experience and in my opinion, the earliest stampers produce the  best audio experience on vinyl) The audio quality is outstanding through out crystal clear and vibrant on all frequencies! You will never need to upgrade from this vinyl! The 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse gate fold is also in exceptional condition . This original has very little ware to mention only. This is complete with the original EMI serpier record sleeve and lyric insert! Highly collectable and sought after UK 1st pressing!

Machine Head is the third Mk II (sixth overall) Deep Purple studio album. It was recorded at the Grand Hotel Montreux, Switzerland in December 1971 with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio and released in March 1972. The album is often cited as being very influential in the development of the heavy metal music genre. It is Deep Purple's most successful recording, topping the charts in several countries following its release!!

The Vinyl

On visual inspection this vinyl looks absolutely superbe, I can barely see a blemish at all! This is the original heavier thicker type of vinyl with deeper grooves only found on these original 1st pressings! They are also more robust than later pressings which were more flimsier! In strong light only could possibly any very light whispy sleeve removal marks only be seen (to be honest I find it hard to see any at all) Please note There are no audio sounding marks or needle scratches at all! Cesrtainly (no) marks that are audio sounding! 

The Audio Quality

 I have played this through track for track as usual on a top system at loud volume prior to this listing . The audio is rated at the very very very top! This is cristal clear and vibrant through out. (NO) CLICKS OR POPS AND CERTAINLY (NO) JUMPS OR SKIPS!  This plays truly awesome throughout!, with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed! A true rich vibrant sound with stunning seperation and deep bassey feel , only found like this on the earliest pressings! I would class myself as highly critacle! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that i normally get it right! Audio is graded at the top!!! You will find the audio quality on this vinyl hard to surpass! One of the best that I have heard absolutely stunning and very vibrant without any distortion a real raunchy deep basey feel!  The audio is as good as it gets on vinyl in my personal opinion! Audio graded as near mint!

Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd static/ crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Perhapes only heard in some quiet places! Although i never heard any problems at all and have given my honest opinion, this is a genuine 40 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 40 year old system!

Please note! This has been stored in a case for at least 40 years! Any static crackle that might be heard during some quiet parts could be minimised by constant cleaning before each play in my experiance!, Build up of dust and dirt that has accumilated over the years of the vinyl being stored laying dormant causes most of this problem so please allow for some light static crackle as  previously mentioned! I would class myself as highly critical ! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right!!

The Labels

This features the original purple labels in superbe condition (no) marks or nasty writing Amaizingly barely one or two light whspy spider marks visible on each side which indicates this has barely ever been played at all, definately not been over played (very rare for a 1st pressing) ''made in gt Britain'' text is featured (this is a UK pressing) There is little if no spindle ware the hole is perfectly round!

The cover.

The condition of this cover is almost pristine and looks almost like new! Fully laminated SUPER GLOSSY FINISH ! ''Garrod and Lofthouse'' gatefold cover. Lovely and glossy laminated front Again amaizingly there is no real creases to mention. Any minor small hairling creases at the edges are barely worth to mention in my opinion.  Little if (no) storageware absolutely superbe throughout! Try to find better! Must grade at least excellent plus to very near mint in my opinion!
