Both programmes include the original BBC Home Service 

continuity announcements

These radio programmes were home recorded on tape by Jim Palm

and then transferred onto acetate discs. Jim Palm was a keen

early adopter of tape recording and joined the BBC Sound Effects 

Department in 1957. In later years he went on to work at the BBC

Gramophone Library and produced his own radio programme for

railway enthusiasts entitled "Rail"
