DEEP PURPLE  'DEEP PURPLE IN ROCK' 1970 STEREO LP.

 LP pressed in Great Britain and released on Harvest SHVL 777. 

1st. press on Harvest label with no EMI logo on the label and 'The Gramophone Co...' rim text.

The side 1 run out has the very rare A-1 matrix number [see photo].

Side 1: SHVL 777 A-1      2           PM.

Side 2: SHVL 777 B-1      1           GH.

The labels have quite a few spider lines around the spindle holes so the record has had a few plays.

Play grades as EX.

All the musical/vocal passages play clearly and brightly with no evidence of groovewear and no sticks, skips or jumps.  

Both sides have a little quiet crackle in the run in areas, between tracks and in just a few places briefly in the quiet part of some of the tracks.

When tilted under normal indoor lighting conditions, both sides have a just a couple of very faint short, surface marks.

Under halogen lights both sides do have quite a few more light marks. 

Outside laminated gatefold sleeve, printed & made by Garrod & Lofthouse, grades VG+.

Has 'File under POPULAR:  Pop Groups' credit.

Has a little laminate lifting along the spine edge & a few scratch marks in the front top quarter. Internally the sleeve is EX.

Plain white inner sleeve grades as EX.

I dispatch records in brand new, bought in mailers designed for the process. Before placing in the mailer I take LPs out of the sleeve place both in a polysleeve and between two card stiffeners and if there is a picture sleeve I place the LP in a plain sleeve to prevent knifing of the picture sleeve. [all this costs £0.80/single LP].

I USE RECORD COLLECTOR GRADINGS AND USE A +/- WHERE I FEEL THAT IT'S APPROPRIATE.

(M) MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as sealed or unplayed should be mint.

(EX) EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of being played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging may have slight wear and/or creasing.

(VG) VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

(G) GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

(F) FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

(P) POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

(B) BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.  

I normally ship within 1/2 working days of receipt of payment.

United Kingdom shipments should arrive in 2-5 business days from date of shipping.
