Nada! is one of the most classical recordings of Death in June till today, a breakthrough record where Death in June abandoned the mix of industrial noise, punk, and Joy Division-styled mayhem to embark on a new style of apocalyptical folk. Tracks like "The Honour of Silence", "C´est un reve," "Leper Lord" and "Carousel" are unique, a release when Death in June was with Patrick O´Kill aside of Douglas P.
Up for your consideration, a copy of Nada! blank pearl-white picture disc test pressing, pressed onto nice thick 170 gram vinyl.
Test pressing LPs are the very first to come off the stampers and are thus closer to the sound of the master tape. LPs of this type are used by record companies for evaluation purposes. As would be expected, quantities are extremely limited (many are one-of-a-kind), and therefore test pressings are very hard to find and quite valuable.
Only 20 copies of this pearl-white picture disc version are known to exist!
Made by World Serpent Distribution and cut by George Peckham at Porky's (Peckham was responsible for all the mastering and cuts of all releases by Death in June recorded from 1981 until 1997), this rare test pressing comes in its original dirty thin white paper protective cover, written on by hand: “DEATH IN JUNE NADA T/P (PIC DISC)’’ [see picture]. The phrases "We aim to please with constant unease" and "No sense making sense" are scratched into the runout groove.
NOTE: picture discs and colored vinyl records are always inferior in sound compared to black vinyl. Most of the colored vinyl and picture discs have more 'pops' and 'cracks' and jumps when you play them than the traditional black vinyl, and the noise floor is higher. Although pleasing to the eye, the overall sound quality of these recordings are not comparable to the better sounding black vinyl discs.

<< All the main protagonists involved knew they had created something special and different upon it's completion and I'll always remember Patrick Leagas, Iain O'Higgins (the sound engineer) and myself walking over to the Embankment near the Thames at dawn of that final morning in the recording studio near Waterloo, London and having a Champagne breakfast in celebration of it's finishing and of it's birth. "Nada!" also showcased the beginning of the collaborations between myself and David Tibet of Current 93 which were to last until 1994. Interesting days with interesting people. >> DOUGLAS P.
