DAVID BOWIE original first issue U.K. 7" stereo demonstration single featuring Space Oddity b/w Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud released in 1969 on the Philips label BF 1801.
Description :
David Bowie's 1969 big hit was only originally issued by Philips as a MONO version in the UK. No STEREO copies of the commercial release have ever been found, but a tiny handful of stereo demos were pressed in the UK and distributed within the music trade. This is one of those copies, and was originally sent to the BBC for review purposes. This stereo version of 'Space Oddity' is the full un-edited 5 minutes and 14 seconds. All known copies have the word MONO blacked out with print and replaced further down the label with the word STEREO.
Condition ~ Vinyl :
Side one of the vinyl is in super clean NEAR MINT condition with just the faintest amount of wear.
Side two has one scratch across the first half of the track which is audible in the background. Otherwise there are just a couple of faint hairlines. Therefore in VG+ condition.
Condition ~ Labels :
Both labels are in NEAR MINT condition.
Condition ~ Sleeve :
Comes in a custom Philips sleeve which is in EXCELLENT condition.
