This is the holy grail for all Bowie collectors. The self-titled 1969 Philips LP that in later years would become known as 'Space Oddity'. This album is extremely rare and was later re-released with the words Space Oddity on the front cover.
CONDITION
The fabulous gatefold sleeve has seen better days. The spine and edges are worn and in keeping with a well figered record sleeve and there is a name written on the top corner(see photo). I would grade the sleeve as VG-. Without the penned name, I think the sleeve would just about squeeze into the VERY GOOD bracket.
The vinyl is a different story. Although there are light spindle trails around the centre holes, I have played the record and it is superb. For it's age, there is minimal crackle and I did not detect any jumps, bumps, skips or scratches. I would grade the vinyl as EXCELLENT.
Again I must stress, this is a highly sought after rarity and a prized possession in any collection.
