Description
This is the original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P” pressing of Curtis Fuller “The Opener” on the West 63rd (no “INC.”) labels of Blue Note BLP 1567. Side 1 has a few inaudible light scuffs and splotches that are typical of records that have been long stored in their original inner sleeve; Side 2 has a nice luster and is in near-new condition; perhaps played once or twice. The laminated cover has the West 63rd St., New York 23 address and is bright and clean throughout: ¾” split on the top seam, at the opening; 1/8” wear at the top of the spine; ¼” wear on the bottom seam, at the opening. Personnel include Hank Mobley, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers, and Art Taylor. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------CHECK OUT the new book: "Blue Note Records, A Guide for Identifying Original Pressings" by Frederick Cohen.
