Description

Counting Crows followed their multi-platinum debut August and Everything After with something darker and more restless. Recovering the Satellites debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in October 1996, built on fourteen tracks of bruised, guitar-driven alternative rock that producer Gil Norton shaped into the band's most ambitious statement. Adam Duritz wrote through the disorientation of sudden fame — the result ranged from the urgent opening punch of "Angels of the Silences" to the slow-burning melancholy of "A Long December," one of the defining singles of the late nineties.

This RSD Essential Indie Exclusive is remastered from the original 1/4" production master tape and pressed on lava red vinyl across two LPs.
